Once upon a time,
on the French border of Switzerland, an age-old cooking method was born.
Farmers and herdsman would make a meal by melting cheese by their campfire or hearth,
and then scrape the melted portion onto their bread and potatoes.

  1. Fun interactive dinner idea I bought this as a Christmas gift for my wife who loves to fondue. We’ve used it twice already and, I must admit, it’s a good time. It’s interactive and creative and it works just as described. Easy to set up, take down, and clean. The kids like it a lot. It’s just fun and easy to make interesting meal combos.   2. Heats quickly, cooks well…lots of fun! We got this raclette just in time for Christmas. The price was great, and the fact it has a reservoir for broth intrigued me, as it can lend itself to hotpot-style cooking, which I enjoyed in China.The tines for hanging meats and veggies are very sharp. Keep that in mind. Juices can run down through the cutouts below the tines, and cause a little mess under the grilling surface, but it’s a minor thing.In all, it’s well built and functions great.
