  2. Works very well on top of the regular wood stove! OK, gotta share!!! I bought this to see if it would help deflect wind while I’m trying to cook with my legged dutch oven and charcoal while camping. Yep. It helps. But, I am thrilled to report that better than that, it works amazingly on top of my soapstone wood stove with my enameled cast iron dutch oven for baking cakes, bread, etc directly in the dutch oven!!   3. I cooked a brisket and baked potatoes on a layover day and both came out just perfect. I also cooked a cobbler which came out .. recently purchased two of these gadgets. Used both on a Colorado River float Ruby Horse-thief Canyons during a fire ban on charcoal use.I was pleasantly surprised to see that they work!
