so the tube should be pretty rust resistant The pellet tube is very well made. The metal tube and endcaps are made of durably thick stainless steel. A strong magnet has very little attraction to the stainless, so that means that it is somewhat low carbon content, so the tube should be pretty rust resistant. High carbon stainless is stronger, but it will rust. How strong does this thing have to be anyway? The weld down the side of the tube was ground down smooth, a nice touch. Good if you plan to run a full tube every time I want to give this 5 stars but can’t. After several uses, this thing does work like a champ once it’s heated up and running. However, it is a royal pain in the butt to get the thing burning, and stay burning on anything other than a full tube of pellets (several hours worth of burn time). I take a torch to it and once cherried up and flaming, let it burn for several minutes (10 minutes per directions) but find even then it will randomly stop burning on me (no, pellets aren’t wet).
