I have only ever used real apple wood. I bought these because they had the highest rating and forums mentioned this brand used no fillers and real hard wood which is the best quality pellets. I would still rate this as one of the higher or highest quality pellet. I gave it a 4 because having only used apple wood I was very disappointed that the food tasted like it was smoked with “not apple “.
