  1. I thought it was gimmicky but… I’ll admit, my wife wanted this accessory and I was apathetic. I thought it was gimmicky. I was wrong. It’s nice to be able to throw meat on the grill, and go do other things (other food prep, grabbing a beer, talking to guests) and be able to glance at your phone and see the temperature of what’s on the grill.   2. The perfect gift for someone you can’t stand. When it works it is superb, when it does not, it is beyond frustrating. Pairing this little blob of plastic is an absolute exercise in four letter words.It is rarely the same experience. Last night it paired perfectly so I thought, dialed in my chicken, breast, skinless, boneless etc @ 165 deg F only to have it come back as not paired. It was paired and then it was not.
