Heatshield Armor Weld Tape is used to repair Heatshield Armor. It may also be used on tight seams of heat shield armor as a cosmetic improvement. The weld tape is not intended to be used to hold the Heatshield Armor in place, it is strictly used on cold side if insulation for cosmetic reasons. It can also be used to protect the ends of the exposed insulation of the HP Sticky Shield to further protect it from the elements and extend the product’s life. The Heatshield Armor Weld Tape can also be used to shield radiant heat from components. The heavy duty peel and stick adhesive will stick to almost any clean smooth surface.

Defective Adhesive I purchased this to install the Heatshield Sticky Shield 23×24 inch on the firewall of my SUV.The Armor Tape 179002 was a complete waste of $24 for a little over 3 feet of tape. My intention was to cover all of the seams and edges with the tape. I followed all of the de-greasing instructions using rubbing alcohol and the air temp was 86 degrees on the installation day.
