keeps the heat out, but bleeds color The gloves fit well enough, cover a large part of the arm, and do well for keeping the heat out. I use them to transfer meat or containers in and out of my smoker. My larger concern is the dye used on the neoprene. when I washed the gloves a lot of the dye came off and it now looks splotchy. Great gloves and easy to clean I spent a fair amount of time looking for a good pair of BBQ gloves to use while grilling and smoking meats prior to buying the Artisan Griller Pit and BBQ gloves.
