Working closely with Joe Traeger, Ortech designed and manufactured the original electronic controls for his revolutionary line of wood pellet grills, including the 3-speed and digital controls. We have manufactured and shipped more than 100,000 3-speed and digital thermostat controls for Traeger grills.

The RealTemp Model TR-100 Digital Thermostat is our latest digital control for Traeger grills and is now available to consumers direct from the original manufacturer.

The RealTemp TR-100 is a high performance upgrade and service replacement that is compatible with the entire line of Traeger grills (except the PTG). Use the TR-100 as a performance upgrade or service replacement for the Traeger standard 3-speed control or the Traeger digital thermostat.

  1. The delay is too long at that point to really be useful. The display now flashes the decimal points (which … Still having more temp swings than desired, but this controller has improvements over the standard Traeger. Here’s the upgrades you get:You now get a real knob for the P-# adjustments (if you don’t know about these, you have bigger temp swings than you should – you need to read the Ortech manual). You also get 16 step of P adjustment, 0-15, vice the Traeger’s 10 (0-9), but I haven’t seen a use for them. The delay is too long at that point to really be useful.The…

  2. Quick trip from impressed to disappointed! I installed it on my 7 year old Lil Tex when the original control quit. It started out great…no matter what temp I set it at, it would not exceed it, and would drop maybe 15 degrees at times, but would jump right back to the set temp. And it did hit 450 degrees during the initial test. Told my wife I felt like I had a new grill! I also have a Traeger Junior and began thinking I might order another Ortech control for it even though the original control was still working. However, after…
