Wonderful grill. I am able to reach over 700 … Wonderful grill. I am able to reach over 700 degrees with only about 12 coals. It’s insane how quickly it can cook. I was able to cook a thin cut steak in three minutes, about a minute and a half on each side. It’s awesome. The grill surface is a bit small at about 14 inches of usable diameter. you could certainly do worse than the Char-Griller Kamado Jr Bang for the buck, you could certainly do worse than the Char-Griller Kamado Jr. It’s an easy way to see if you have the patience required to use a kamado style grill before splurging on something bigger.Unfortunately, mine looks like it was poorly manufactured.
