I’m new to smoking, and This smoker was easy for me to use, and everything comes out great. Had this smoker for about a Month and a half already, and used it a total of 4 times so far. Everything came out great, no problems. I recently bought the stand and cover for it and now it resides outside. Great Big Smoker, A Few Foibles First let me say the the construction quality is top notch. This is a heavy(ish) unit that is very sturdy and well put-together. The design is functional but handsome, and while one doesn’t buy a smoker for the looks, this one certainly does look good (especially the “deluxe” model with the glass front – but more on that later). The insulation on the unit is very good, and while cooking there was almost no heat radiated from the top or sides, which is good because it means that all the…
Not recommended UPDATE DECEMBER 2018:The smoker has died on me. Every time it tries to power on it trips the GFCI outlet. Confirmed its the smoker by trying various GFCI outlets. Running the smoker on a non-GFCI outlet lets it power on and heat up, but it gives you a mild shock if you touch the steel of the housing. I have allowed it to fully preheat on a non-GFCI to allow any moisture or contamination on the heating element to be burned away, and the issue persists. The smoker was always stored…
