This thing is unbelievable. I have a 30″ Masterbuilt electric smoker. Tired of feeding it chips every half an hour. Tried this and once it was dialed in, I just cannot believe how well it works. Remove the smoker tube completely from its slot so there’s a nice airflow. Leave the top vent open. There’s a small learning curve when you first get this where you will put it into service before it’s really ready. Don’t. Back up a bit; ignite it with your micro torch and let it flame away…
The pellet tube is very well made. The metal tube and endcaps are made of durably thick stainless steel. A strong magnet has very little attraction to the stainless, so that means that it is somewhat low carbon content, so the tube should be pretty rust resistant. High carbon stainless is stronger, but it will rust. How strong does this thing have to be anyway? The weld down the side of the tube was ground down smooth, a nice touch.
