Living in Colorado, I am unable to find Alder wood here. The wonderful smell of Alder burning in the air of the Northwest U.S. is something that stuck with me since my first visit years ago. These pellets are convenient and work well in a foil packet or a cleaned tuna can on my gas grill. I will certainly be buying more. Being these are compressed pellets and not wood chips do not soak them first the way you would with chips. They create every bit as much smoke as chips though. Be mindful…
