CARING FOR YOUR CAST IRON
Caring for your cast iron doesn’t have to be complicated. Lodge cookware is pre-seasoned, so you can make your family’s favorite recipe, without the process of seasoning. You can use it on any heat source, from the stove top, to the campfire (just not the microwave). Grill some fresh Atlantic salmon on the grill pan, or bake some warm buttered biscuits in the skillet as you get the easy-release finish that cast iron is known for.

After hand washing washing your cookware, simply place it on a burner for a few minutes to dry it out, let it cool, and then rub in a thin layer of oil to help maintain your hard earned seasoning. For extra messy situations, simmer some water in your pan and then use a scraper after it’s cooled. For excellent maintenance, and to prevent rust, always dry promptly and store in a cool, dry place.

  1. Nice set but not non-stick out of the box I am slowly adjusting to life cooking on cast iron. At first, food was sticking pretty badly to it; hence the loss of one star. So I seasoned it myself a couple more times and after a couple weeks of cooking on it regularly, it’s finally getting to be non-stick. These are very heavy, so still haven’t figured out how to flip things, but small price to pay for quality cookware. Warm the pans slowly and turn up the heat, but remember these things get hot and stay hot for a long time so don’t heat…

It is such a good value for the money (don’t even talk to me about the $1400 All Clad set I just bought). I bought this for camping but have used it for regular cooking and it works so well.
